At Ocean & 72nd Street, the 72nd Street beach area of the Long Beach Peninsula
This beach is located on the Long Beach Peninsula in a residential area with one side facing the ocean and the other a block away from houses facing Alamitos Bay on the other side of the roadway.
The public beach on the peninsula at 72nd Street, near to a yacht club, is guarded by Long Beach Lifeguards. One of the main draws of this beach is a rock jetty from which visitors may fish and observe the ships docking at Alamitos Landing Harbor before heading out to sea. When the Aqualink boat docks in this harbour between Queen Mary, Aquarium of the Pacific / Shoreline Village and the northern section where there is free parking at Orange County’s boundary, anyone can get on board and be picked up.
Several blocks away, coin-operated parking metres and on-street spaces are available at 72nd Street Beach. It contains restrooms, sand beaches that go all the way to downtown Long Beach, and of course, the rock jetty where people go to fish.
At lunch, park your car on the beach and enjoy the peaceful activities of the port, which connects the two cities.
